Crystal Garden Kumihimo Necklace by Sam Wescott
This necklace was directly inspired by a dress that I bought to wear to my cousin’s wedding. The dress was white with large floral patches in deep olivine, fuchsia, and tanzanite. I immediately identified the Swarovski colors and snatched up the matching beads.
This necklace extends about 2in on either side with unadorned pearl seedbeads. I used a bright plum thread which you can see between the beads, which keeps the necklace cohesive. Then in the center is a lovely braid with 4mm Swarovski crystals in Fuchsia, Tanzanite, Olivine, and Crystal AB. Between these bicones are pewter and copper spacers and the pearl seedbeads that make up the ends.
The clasp is a decorative pewter toggle attached to two filigree pewter caps that hold the braid in place. The necklace is 16.5 inches long and should sit right on top of the collarbone.
